Derrick Evans
Candidate for U.S. Congress, W. Va. District 1
Derrick Evans, Candidate for Congress, W. Va. Dist 1A lifelong West Virginian, Derrick is a former member of the West Virginia House of Deligates. He is staunch Conservative, a proud January 6 Patriot, and the only elected state legislator in the country who was arrested for peacefully and patriotically standing with President Trump on January 6th.
On January 6 he was on the opposite side of the building from the rioters and was invited into the capitol building by the officer on duty at the open door. He spent about 10 minutes inside the public area of the rotunda and then peacefully left through the same door. Some time later the Deep State’s agents handcuffed him in the presence of his children (his wife was at work), abducted him from his home, and threw him into prison where he was held as a political prisoner for three months and kept in solitary confinement for eight days refusing to “accept the jab.”
He was born in Huntington, WV and raised in Wayne County, WV. Derrick received a Bachelor of Arts from West Liberty University where he earned NCAA First Team All American honors as a captain of the football team while also being a contributing member of the men's track team.
After graduating college, Derrick returned to Wayne County where he began his teaching and football coaching career. After four years in the education system, Derrick stepped away from teaching to pursue his passion for real estate investing and property management.
Before politics, Derrick was a conservative and pro-life activist whose passion for ending abortion lead to numerous unborn lives being saved. Derrick also helped to secure legal support for the adoptions of each child whose mother chose adoption.
Derrick was first elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates in 2020 as he became the first Republican to win his District in over 98 years. At the time it was a multi-member House District almost the size of the current WV State Senate District. Derrick won in a landslide victory.
Derrick married his college sweetheart Melissa (Pierzchala) who is a first generation American. Together, they have four children: Marlee (7); Emmalynn (5); Waylen (3); Lincoln (2). More about Derrick here.

From their website: “A father and son duo act from Fleetwood, UK.
Photo of Father and Son, the Karaoke Kings“Dion has always followed his dad’s singing career very closely and loves joining in when Wal is on stage; but they have never sung as a duo until April 2020. The coronavirus lockdown in the UK impacted a lot of people very hard and Wal and Dion both agreed that their love of music should be shared across the world, so felt it was time to combine their talents.
“We created the Father and Son Karaoke Kings channel in April 2020, and have posted a new song every day since, for over 350 songs. You can check out our channels on either Youtube, Facebook, or Instagram.
“Despite Dion having disabilities, it has never stopped him doing the things he wants to do in life and his ambition and passion has been an inspiration for children and adults alike. He is extremely grateful to all those he can inspire around the world.
“Sharing our musical love with the world has helped overcome the daily struggles through the past year and we are so thankful our music has helped others overcome their own struggles.
“From all of us supporting Wal and Dion, welcome to our online family. We cannot thank you enough!”
