Bob 2 here with Bob 1, and we are doing St. Paddy’s day the old fashioned way, with whiskey! And later we will be killing some snakes! We’ve got two Irish whiskeys we’re trying out, the old standby Jameson, and a new one we are trying out Tullamore Dew.

Irish whiskey is the best type of sipping whiskey in our opinion and shouldn’t be seen associating with any “sevens” “sours” or “cokes”.

Jameson has always been the bobcast’s Irish whiskey of choice – mainly because here in flyover country the pickings are slim.

The Local, a Minneapolis Irish pub that we have frequented on occasion, has sold the most Jameson of any bar in the entire world for the 3rd straight time!

All in all, this is a very drinkable whiskey that we are comfortable sipping about once a year when we need something other than green beer to imbibe on.

But this year we decided to branch out and buy two, count em, two bottles of whiskey to drink the neck down on and banish it to the back of the liquor cabinet. Does anybody else have that problem? I have probably bought a bottle of Jameson for St. Paddy’s day each year, had a couple of drinks and forgot about it. Then the next year, without thinking about it, I headed out to the liquor store to quelch my yearly hankering without looking under the basement bar first. I didn’t look this year either, I wonder how many mostly full bottles of Jameson are rolling around down there.

Aaaaanyway, we mixed it up and picked up this bottle of Tullamore Dew, also an Irish whiskey. And from what we can tell, tastes exactly the same. It was a buck cheaper, so that gives it the Bobcast stamp of approval!
